- Artemis Temple resurrected in Cyprus / 2 June 2007

Kaya Holding which has helped Turkish tourism to move with the times with its facilities in Turkey’s favorite holiday centers, and which is one of Turkey’s largest group of companies has contracted one of the largest investments in Cyprus.
Kaya Artemis Hotel which is an exact sized replica of the Artemis Temple in Ephesus, one of the World’s Seven Wonders, and which is built in the Bafra Tourism Zone of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was opened on 2 June, Saturday with a Grand ceremony.
The opening of Kaya Artemis was attended by TRNC President Mehmet Ali Talat, Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer, Turkey’s Nicosia Ambassador Türkekul Kurttekin, and 2500 guests from the world of art, high society, and media.
TRNC President Talat recalled his greatest dream of opening the Bafra region to tourism while serving as the Minister of Tourism in 1996, and said, “My dreams have come true”.
TRNC Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer emphasized that aside from tourism, this investment will also contribute to solving the drinking water problems of TRNC. Kaya Group President of the Board of Directors Burhanettin Kaya stated that Kaya Artemis has a capacity of 2500 beds. Kaya noted that the facility contains casino and congress halls.
Following the cutting of the ribbon, Cyprus skies were wrapped into an array of bright colors with amazing fireworks. Later, beautiful girls gave a dance performance in the pool passing through the hotel. The dancers that resembled water fairies in the water that took a multi-colored form with the effect of light games gave a magical touch to the night.
Gala Night with the Super Star
Super Star Ajda Pekkan took stage on the opening of Kaya Artemis Resort & Casino on 2 June Saturday night. At this grand gala which was attended by approximately 2 thousand 500 guests from the world of arts and high society, Ajda Pekkan dazzled with her costume made of tulle and guipure with influence from Artemis, the Greek goddess of nature. The age defying Super Star remained on staged for approximately two hours, and charmed the guests that watched her.
